Installing the Exhibition

After the research, development, production, and finalization of the work, my exhibition was installed at Gallery 126. Gallery 126 is located in Galway City and is an art organization run by artists. They focus on exhibitions, lectures, workshops, research opportunities, internships and advocacy for the visual arts. In 10 years, Gallery 126 has grown to more than 120 members and is a vital organization for visual arts in Ireland. I was extremely fortunate to have my exhibition at this space. Here is the website.  -   www.126.ie

As I explained in previous posts, my exhibition is an installation that includes twelve 22" x 33" photographs, found objects, text, and candles. The show was installed with the help of Marcel, who runs the day-to-day operations of the gallery, and Geno, one of the newest members. Marcel is from Barcelona, and Geno is from Italy. Here are a few photographs once the installation was complete. As always it is extremely rewarding to execute and view a visual result come to life.

Photographs, Found Objects, and Candles

Candles, Rocks, and Branches

The candles will be burned during the opening. The rocks are from the area where I have been working called the Burren that I explained in a previous post. The branches represent the timbers that people who have partaken in this ritual say they used to protect their tables from the wax.
